Airbase Arizona - Commemorative Air Force

CAF Airbase Arizona — A Mission More Necessary Than Ever

Who tells the stories of the men and women who went to hell and back to save the world? We do.

For over 40 years, our dedicated volunteers and supporters have created and operated one of the most unique and immersive experiences about U.S. military aviation in the country. Our exhibits and flying programs have received numerous awards and our Airbase in Mesa, Arizona is consistently ranked as a top public attraction.

We need your help.

The COVID 19 pandemic restrictions affecting the public since March are preventing us from generating adequate revenue from museum admissions, living history flights and other programs. We are a self-supporting non-profit and receive no government funds. During these difficult times, we still need to generate revenue in order to maintain our facility, preserve and prepare valuable artifacts for exhibit, and ensure regular aircraft servicing continues.
Your generosity will make it possible for us to resume full operations in the future. Our goal is to raise $10,000 overall from ordinary Americans who share our dedication to history.

Please consider making a donation to help fund our vital programs. A sample of vital programs underway in need of funding include;

  • Reconstructing the story of B-25 pilot Marion Maupin who flew 51 combat missions 1942-45 with the 71st Bomb Squadron in New Guinea, including the digitization of personal films he shot during his time in New Guinea that have never before been seen by the public. This exhibit will help tell the story about this generally under-covered theater of war.
  • A new ‘Homecoming’ exhibit will tell the story about the more than 6 million U.S. servicemen and women who returned home from WWII service overseas 75 years ago on ‘Magic Carpet Missions’ in aircraft and on ships. The logistics challenge was enormous – and so was the joy of millions of Americans welcoming their sons and daughters home.
  • The Doolittle Raid and the Battle of Midway are among the most pivotal military aviation feats in history. How did they do it? How did those victories turn the tide in the most destructive war in history? The long overdue upgrades to these exhibits will inspire American youth to look at challenges in new ways and directly supports our school tours and outreach.

Public and community support has always been part of our success. Here is how you can help now:

  • Donate $20 to quickly and easily support the development of exhibits and programs.
  • Donate $75 to support overall museum operations and upgrades. Supporters at this level will receive an enhanced annual pass good for unlimited museum admission for the holder plus one guest effective through the end of 2021.
  • Donate $100 to support our living history education programs and receive the ‘enhanced annual pass’ good for two people through 2021, and an Airbase Arizona T-shirt.
  • Sponsorship of major public programs is also invited. Corporate and civic groups interested in sponsorship should click here for information.
