Group Tours and School/Youth Field Trips

Docent-guided group tours and school field trips offer inspiring and educational experiences covering 100 years of military aviation. Our top-rated museum and tours are ideal for schools, clubs, business groups and adult explorers of all types!

Tours take approximately one hour and includes the main exhibit floor covering key events from World War One to the Vietnam War, the mission briefing room, gallery, aircraft maintenance and restoration hangar, and outdoor operations ramp (operations permitting).

Living history flights may also be available by special arrangement. Please discuss with tour coordinator during follow-up and confirmation of tour reservation.

Read the information below about age minimums, pricing and other requirements. Then submit a reservation request online at least two weeks in advance of the desired tour date. Unless making a reservation for a school group, pre-payment may be required prior to tour confirmation.

Group Tours – Important Information

Adult supervision rules for schools and youth groups:

One teacher is required for each school group, or one designated adult leader for each youth group. In addition, there must be one adult chaperone for every eight students or youths (ages eight to twelve).

Sorry, we do not offer guided school/field trip programs for child groups age 7 and under. Adult-leader-led preschooler group visits for ages 7 years and under are welcome. However, they must guide their own groups. The adult to child ratio for preschool age children is one adult per two preschoolers.

Food Service or Event Area

Food Service – There are no public food service facilities on site, nor are food and drink permitted in exhibit areas. However, our outdoor Heritage Park grassy area on the west side of the museum has pleasant areas and some benches that may be suitable for groups bringing their own sack lunch or snacks. There are also several restaurants located across the street in the shopping center.

Private events – Groups visiting the museum are welcome to use our outdoor Heritage Park area on a first-come-first-served basis for birthday parties or similar. We do not have indoor event facilities available for private event rentals or usage.

Location and Bus Driver Information

The Airbase Arizona Flying Museum is located at 2017 N. Greenfield Road, Mesa, Arizona 85215 (the north east corner of the intersection of McKellips and N. Greenfield Rds).

Our parking lot is only accessible from N. Greenfield Rd and does not have an outlet to McKellips Road. Motor coaches or similar large vehicles should enter the parking lot and pull forward (east) toward the locked chain-link gate – stopping before reaching the gate, then reverse while turning (north) into the motorcoach parking area on the north side of the parking lot entrance. This enables easy passenger unloading/loading and motorcoach exit from the parking lot.

Bus drivers are invited to accompany groups as part of the tour, or may sit comfortably inside our facility.
