Airbase Arizona - Commemorative Air Force

Our B-25 bomber Maid in the Shade, our C-47 Old Number 30, and our N2S-3 Stearman will visit Goodyear, AZ March 5-7
The B-25 was developed by North American Aviation and used mainly as a low altitude strafe and skip bomber. Nearly 10,000 B-25s were produced and the “Maid in the Shade” is one of 34 still flying today.
Serving with the 11th Troop Carrier Squadron, this aircraft flew highly classified missions transporting spies and supplies and rescuing wounded and refugees.
The Boeing Model 75 US Navy N2S-3 Stearman bi-plane (Navy variant of PT-17) served as a primary trainer in the 1930s and 1940s for the USAAF, US Navy, and the Royal Canadian Air Force.
