MiG 21PF on loan from Pima Air and Space Museum

The Arizona Wing's MiG-21 was built by the Russian State Industries. The MiG is on loan via Pima Air & Space Museum, Tucson, AZ. The history is largely unknown at this time. The MiG came to Pima from the USMC Air Museum and the paper work in the crate read 1982. It is suspected this jet may have been flown from Hungary by a pilot defecting. It caries the markings of pre-1991 Hungarian Air Force.

Called the "most sSuccessful" jet fighter ever designed based on the number built and its use of so many countries. Fought against the F-4 Phantom II in Vietnam, though not as versatile. The delta-wing design is very fast, but it bleeds off energy (speed) quickly when maneuvering.
